How IPL Photofacial Works
IPL—short for Intense Pulsed Light—uses pulses of broad-spectrum light to penetrate beneath the skin’s surface and break up unwanted pigment. As the light is absorbed by melanin and hemoglobin, those pigment clusters are gently fragmented and carried away by the body’s natural processes. This treatment also stimulates collagen production, supporting long-term skin clarity and a more youthful, radiant texture, without damaging surrounding tissue.

What Should I Expect?
Before
Your journey begins with a personalized consultation. We’ll assess your skin, understand your goals, and determine whether IPL is the most effective path forward. Based on your needs and Fitzpatrick skin type, we’ll tailor a treatment plan and provide any pre-care guidance, such as pausing certain skincare actives and avoiding sun exposure for a few days before treatment.
During
Each session lasts about 20–30 minutes. You may feel a mild warming or snapping sensation as the handpiece glides over the treatment area, but most clients find it very tolerable, especially with the system’s built-in cooling. Protective eyewear is provided, and you’ll be comfortably reclined throughout the process.
After
Mild redness and darkening of pigment (often described as a “peppering” effect) are normal in the first few days. These treated spots naturally flake off, revealing brighter skin underneath. There’s no required downtime—you can return to normal activities the same day, with proper sun protection. Results begin to appear after the first session, with continued improvement over a series of 3–5 treatments.
